The ministry described damage to the crossing infrastructure but reported no casualties. Abdali is Kuwait’s principal land crossing to Iraq and sits on a key logistics route into the country.
The confirmation follows Iran’s claim, cited earlier by the Times of Israel, that it had targeted US military assets in Kuwait and Jordan in response to a 12th consecutive night of US Central Command strikes on Iran. Kuwait’s army had earlier this week intercepted Iranian missiles and drones heading toward its territory.
Kuwait hosts several thousand US troops at Camp Arifjan and Ali Al Salem Air Base, both of which sit south of the Abdali crossing.
