The Middle East continues to be a hotbed of tension, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailing US sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC) Middle East Eye. The ICC has issued a warrant for Netanyahu’s arrest over war crimes in Gaza. In response, Netanyahu’s office posted on X that the ICC is ‘not a court. It is a political body that poses a mortal threat to law-abiding democracies worldwide and to the very idea of national sovereignty’ Middle East Eye. Meanwhile, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has suspended a nuclear cooperation deal with the US in an effort to appease Russia OilPrice. This move gives Moscow an opening in Armenia, as it signals that Pashinyan is taking the menacing tone of recent Russian statements seriously.
