Iran’s military said Thursday it struck US facilities in Kuwait with drones in retaliation for American strikes a day earlier on Qeshm island and other locations inside Iran, according to Al Jazeera and Iranian state statements carried by Middle East Eye. If confirmed on the ground, the strikes would mark the first direct Iranian attack on US infrastructure in Kuwait during the current exchange.
What we know
The Iranian army said it carried out attacks against “strategic US centres” in Kuwait using drones, in response to a US strike on a residential home in Qeshm, according to Middle East Eye. Al Jazeera reports Iran says it “struck Kuwait in retaliation for US strikes on multiple locations in Iran, including Qeshm island.”

Kuwait hosts several US military installations, most prominently Camp Arifjan and Ali Al Salem Air Base. Neither the Kuwaiti government nor US Central Command had released public statements confirming impacts or casualties at the time of writing.
